What to Expect at Your Maternity Session

Maternity sessions usually happen between 32 and 36 weeks, when your bump is prominent but you still feel comfortable moving. We choose locations with soft light, like golden hour fields, garden paths, or the nursery corner at home.

Partners and siblings are welcome. We mix classic bump portraits with candid interaction so you have images that tell the story of waiting for this baby, not just a silhouette against a sunset.

We serve families across Oklahoma City, south OKC, Norman, Edmond, and the wider metro. Editing keeps skin tones natural and fabrics true to color. Your gallery arrives ready for prints, nursery art, and announcement posts.

Common Questions

When in pregnancy should we shoot?

Usually 32 to 36 weeks — bump is prominent, movement is still comfortable. Earlier than that the bump can read small in photos; later than that standing sessions get hard. If your provider has activity limits, tell us and we shorten the plan.

What if I feel swollen, tired, or not like myself?

We pace around how you feel that day. Seated and leaned poses first if standing is rough. We do not force a twenty-minute walk for a hero shot. Partners help with balance; siblings get a short block so you are not managing kids and posing at once.

Can we include our partner or other kids?

Yes. Partner and sibling frames are part of the session, not an afterthought. Classic bump portraits happen first while you have energy; family interaction follows. If you are also planning a gender reveal, we can map both on one timeline when you inquire.

Studio or outdoors?

Most maternity sessions are outdoor golden-hour or soft open shade across the OKC metro. In-home nursery corners work when weather or privacy matters. We choose for flattering light on the bump — harsh midday sun is a pass.

What should I wear?

Form-fitting knits and flowing dresses both work; stiff boxy layers hide the bump. Neutrals photograph cleaner than busy patterns. We send a short wardrobe note after booking — bring two options if you are unsure.
